Privacy Policy — NameSignal
Effective Date: 2026-10-06 · Last Updated: 2026-10-06
This Privacy Policy explains how Marco Polo Research Lab LLC, a California limited liability company ("MPR Lab", "Company", "we", "our", "us"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use NameSignal (the "Service").
1. Scope and Controller
Effective March 30, 2026, Marco Polo Research Lab LLC is the controller for information processed through NameSignal. This policy applies to our website, web application, and related support services for this product.
2. Information We Collect
Account and authentication data
We use Google sign-in and email/password sign-in through our authentication service to operate accounts. We receive and store profile fields needed for the service, including your name, email address, and profile image. The authentication service processes passwords and sends email verification and password reset messages.
Search and service data
We store business descriptions, submitted categories, optional state selections, submitted jobs, generated candidate names, preliminary naming-risk screen results, and other records needed to show search history and results.
Purchase data
RevenueCat and Paddle process checkout with your account identifier and payment information. NameSignal stores purchase identifiers, product identifiers, amounts, currency, timestamps, and credit grant status. NameSignal does not store your card details.
Preferences and communications
We store product preferences such as notification settings and screening targets, and we process support or service communications you send to us.
Technical and diagnostic data
We process technical data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, request metadata, and service logs for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and reliability.
3. How We Use Information
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Generate candidate names and operate search, settings, credits, and notification features.
- Store job history and display search results back to the authenticated account.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve service reliability and performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers strictly as needed to operate the Service, including identity and authentication providers, llm-proxy infrastructure, credits or ledger infrastructure, RevenueCat and Paddle for payments, notification or email providers, hosting or CDN providers, and the networked search or crawling services used to complete requested checks.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a corporate transaction.
5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Do Not Track
- Session cookies are used for authentication and security.
- Browser local storage may store UI preferences such as theme or app settings.
- NameSignal is not designed to track users across unrelated third-party websites for behavioral advertising.
- Because there is no universal Do Not Track standard we can rely on for this service, we do not currently change behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals.
- Third-party scripts or providers may collect technical information according to their own policies when your browser loads their resources.
6. Review, Corrections, and Requests
You can review or update certain settings in-product. For access, correction, export, deletion, or privacy requests, contact support@mprlab.com. We may keep information that we need for security, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance even after an account-related request.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and operational data for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, accounting, and security obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and operational need.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, transport security, and service monitoring. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by revising the effective date on this page.
